Before you scan, run this checklist:
- Color scan, not black and white. Immigration systems reject monochrome. - All four corners of the bio page visible, nothing cropped. - No glare, no shadows, no fingers in frame. - File format matches the portal: PDF for most, JPEG for India's photo upload. - File size within limits. India's portal wants the passport PDF between 10 KB and 300 KB. - The machine-readable zone at the bottom is sharp and legible. - Scan the page with your photo and details, not the cover. Re-scanning the same passport every trip is how corners get cropped and uploads fail at midnight before a flight.
